Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Editable file of the manuscript
  • Anonymized copy of the manuscript
  • 150-word biography of the author/s
  • Duly-accomplished Submission Form

Author Guidelines

Peer Review Process

  1. Submitted manuscripts will undergo a screening and a two-level double-blind peer review process.
  2. Submitted manuscripts may be accepted, accepted with revisions, or rejected at any stage of the review process.
  3. Authors of accepted manuscripts will be asked to revise their paper based on the recommendations of reviewers.
  4. The complete process will take around 24 weeks after the deadline of submission.

Submission Guidelines

Authors are expected to closely follow these instructions to ensure their manuscript adheres to Alipato’s requirements and standards.

Requirements (must be submitted in separate files via email addressed to the Editor-in-Chief):

  1. Editable file (.doc/.docx) of the manuscript following the template.
  2. Anonymized copy of the manuscript
    Name/s of author/s mentioned in the text, tables, figures, citations, and bibliography must be redacted. Authors may use the black highlight function in MS Word.
  3. Biography of author/s
    The biography of the author/s, not exceeding 150 words for each author, should include educational background, research field, and published papers.
  4. Duly-accomplished Submission Form

The manuscript should be:

  1. on basic education;
  2. original and has not been published, printed, or simultaneously submitted for review in any publication;
  3. written in English (American variety) or in Filipino;
  4. composed of 6,000 to 10,000 words including abstract (in 200 words or fewer), tables, figures, notes, reference list, and appendix/es; and
  5. written following the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th edition) for format and referencing guidelines; and

The author/s:

  1. is/are expected to be prompt in corresponding with Alipato’s journal management team during the entire review process;
  2. is/are responsible for securing permission for copyrighted materials;
  3. should provide an acknowledgement statement for funders and non-author collaborators; and
  4. (in case of multiple authors) should all have substantive intellectual contributions to the manuscript.
